民族利益是影响民族关系的重要因素。在社会转型和发展市场经济的过程中,新的民族利益要求凸显,民族利益矛盾增加,少数民族利益意识增强。妥善处理民族利益矛盾,是维护社会稳定,促进共同发展,建构和谐的社会主义民族关系的需要。协调民族利益冲突,是政府的重要职责。加快发展是满足民族利益需求,化解民族利益矛盾的基础;加强法治建设是协调民族利益冲突的重要途径;树立科学的利益观,是解决民族利益问题的重要保障;打击敌对势力利用民族利益矛盾的破坏活动,是维护和发展社会主义民族关系的客观要求。

National interest is an important element which influences the relationship among nationalities, in the process of social transformation and developing market economy, conflicts of national interest increase and awareness of interest of minorities is growing. Properly handling these conflicts may help maintain social stability, promote common development and constructing harmonious national relationship. It is the government＇s duty to coordinate the conflicts of national interest. Speeding development is the basis of satisfying the needs of national interest and resolving the conflicts; strengthening legal system construction is an important means to resolve the conflicts of national interest; setting up a scientific viewpoint of interest is the guarantee of settling the dispute.
