The New Characteristics of Chinese Democratic Parties in the Period of Social Transformation

21世纪初叶,中国已步入社会转型时期,躬逢其时的中国民主党派出现了新变化,在政党的社会基础、价值取向和政党职能等方面呈现出新特点。民主党派的社会基础由公众知识分子嬗变为一般的脑力劳动者,其政党成员的价值取向呈现多元化趋势,政党职能也发生了变化。

Early in the 21st century, China has stepped into the period of its social transformation. New changes arise among Chinese Democratic Parties present on this occasion. The New characteristics emerge in the social foundation, the value orientation and the party function of the political parties and so on. The social foundation of democratic parties is that their members have changed from public intellectuals into ordinary mental workers and the value orientation of their party members takes on the pluralistic trends. And the political and social functions of the political parties have changed, too.
