Study on the History of Domestication and Development of Chinese Rabbits

现代家兔起源于野生穴兔，它与山兔属的野生兔是同科而不同属的动物，学术界对家兔的起源地有外来论和原产论两种不同的观点。1400～1800年前我国家兔驯化首先从宫廷开始，然后传到民间，并由北向南逐步扩大，但真正形成生产性动物只有200余年的历史。

The Chincsc rabbits, which originated from Oryctolagus, belong to thc homologous Family but not bclong to the same genus as the common hares of Lepus. The origin of Chinese rabbits is controversial. There are two diffcrent theories on its origins,one from European and the other from China. Over 1400-1800 years, the domestication of Chinese rabbits commenced in Palace, expanded in viUage from North to South of China. However, the history of Chinese rabbits, which was applied to product, was about 200 years.
