In the present history scholarship, the structural, analytical, and quantitative studies are dominant. And these genres criticize fiercely the narrative history. Two serious results come from this. One is that history has a superstitious attitude toward science, and the other is that human elements disappear from history. Therefore, people's interest of reading history decreases sharply. The "modem narrative" tries to stop the tide. It stresses that history shares the same nature with literature and history should borrow boldly the methods of modern fiction and film. With the restoration of the concern of human and vivid narration, history will win back its readers.
