The Common Lexical Errors in Translating German Scientific Texts into Chinese

众所周知,德汉两种文字在意义范围和使用习惯上差别很大,有的词语可同时译成不同的汉语,有的在汉语中还很难找到对应的词。因此,对德语字词进行汉译,合理选择词义是首先要解决的问题。在翻译时必须根据词在句子中的作用,上下文的联系,以及在不同语境的应用上,判断出词的确切含义,选出最恰当的汉语词语把它表达出来。

It is well known that there are many differences in both meaning coverage and idiomatic use of lexical items between Chinese and German. Some German words can be translated into Chinese in different ways, and some do not even have corresponding items in Chinese. So, the first problem that should be solved in German- Chinese translation is to choose the proper meanings of lexical items. We must take into consideration the syntactical function, the contextual relationship and the pragmatic use before reaching the proper meaning of a word and deciding on how to express the idea appropriately in Chinese.
