孔德的社会有机体理论由三部分组成:社会秩序论、社会进步论和社会有机体理论下的方法论、伦理道德观、政治观和宗教观等。社会秩序论主要是关于社会结构和维持的问题,核心是社会和谐;社会进步论主要是说明社会变迁和发展的问题,他认为人的理性决定社会变迁和发展,人类理性发展的“三阶段”就是人类历史发展的“三阶段”。
