光绪十四年李鸿章修建保定淮军昭忠祠公所,是由多种原因促成的。在淮军于各地修建的七处昭忠祠中,保定淮军昭忠祠公所最具代表性:从建筑艺术来讲,它堪称北方地区近代徽派艺术之精品;从建筑规制和占地面积来看,它是首屈一指的;其管理制度就当时来说可谓相当完备;此处的入祀人员也多于其他淮军昭忠祠。保定淮军昭忠祠公所是研究李鸿章与淮军历史、晚清典祀制度及会馆制度的极好的实物史料。

This article focuses on a causal analysis of the memorial temples of the Huai loyalty army in Baoding, built by the approval of Li Hongzhang, which is the most typical one out of the total seven spread nationwide. The temple in Baoding is of the northern artistic feature, taking largest area and most magnificent architectural scales. The management systera there excels that in other places. So it serves as a living material for the study of Li Hongzhang and the related military temples.
