On Strengthening the Education of Socialist Concept of Honor and Disgrace in Universities

以“八荣八耻”为主要内容的社会主义荣辱观,具有很强的民族性、时代性和实践性,充分体现了中华民族传统美德和时代精神的有机结合,是社会主义精神文明建设和公民道德建设指导方针的新发展,对于贯彻落实科学发展观、全面建设小康社会、构建社会主义和谐社会,具有重要而深远的意义。高校作为培养高素质人才的摇篮,更应该深刻认识大力开展社会主义荣辱观教育的紧迫性和重要性,并确实采取行之有效的措施对大学生加强社会主义荣辱观教育。

The socialist concept of honor and disgrace, also known as ＂Eight Honors and Disgraces＂, has national character, epochal character and practical character. It reflects the combination of the traditional virtue nation and the spirit of the times. It is an advancement of the socialist cultural and ideological progress and the an outstanding of the Chinese guiding policy of moral construction. Also, it will contribute to implementing the scientific development view, constructing the well-off society and building the socialist harmonious society. As a place of personnel training, universities should be aware of the urgency and significance of strengthening the education of socialist concept of honor and disgrace. What＇s more, universities should really carry out the effective methods to strengthen the education of socialist concept of honor and disgrace for university students.
