摘要
培养学生实际运用英语的能力,是英语教育教学的根本任务。但是,我国目前的大学英语教育教学却没能有效地把传授语言知识与培养言语能力有机地结合起来,致使学生的语言知识与言语能力存在着明显的“剪刀差”。因此,大学英语教学改革的关键就是要正确定位外语教师的角色,把课堂教学变为师生双向互动的过程,着力培养学生的跨文化交际能力,使学生的语言知识与言语能力相互促进,协调发展,更好地适应时代发展的要求。
To cultivate students' performance is the fundamental task of English language teaching. Yet, in College English teaching today, more attention is paid to the imparting of knowledge rather than the cultivation of students' performance. As a result, a gap exists between competence and performance in the students' actual realization of English. To improve college English teaching, therefore, we need to readjust the teacher's role in the classroom, to make teaching a dynamic process, and to attach great importance on cross - cultural communication so that students will learn to adapt to the advancement of the society by developing both their linguistic competence and communicative competence.
