《唐代科举与文学》一书将科举作为研究之中介,把它与文学沟通起来,运用文史结合的治学方法综合考察唐代文学与科举的关系。其文史结合的治学方法主要体现在以下几个方面:一、作者对每一问题的论述都以史料为基础,经过对大量原始资料的分析和鉴别之后他才得出结论。二、注重对一特定时代知识分子的生活道路、思维方式和心理状态做历史的分析,以展现特定历史背景下文学的面貌。三、反过来以诗、文等文学作品来明确科举史中存疑的地方。

the book Imprial Exam System and Literature of Tang Dynasty takes imperial exam system as the media for research and connects it with literature, it explores the relationship between literature and the exam system by combining literature and history together. This combination mainly reflects in the following aspects：First,the author discusses each problem on the basis of historic materials and the conclusion is finally made after analyzing and identifing millions of raw materials. Second ,focus on intellectuals＇ life, thinking pattern and psychological state in certain period in order to show the face of a specific background literature. Third, use poems ,articles and other literature works to clear doubts about the Imperial.
