该体育馆不仅仅为2002韩日世界杯的足球比赛而设计．也充分考虑了赛后举行橄榄球等比赛的需要。其可开闭的屋顶使之成为一座全天候的体育馆。
This stadium is an athletic sports stadium designed to be used not only for soccer, but for rugby as well. Its spherical-shaped retractable roof allows the stadium to be used regardless of weather conditions for sports events.
