我们不能简单的称他为建筑家,因为在他一生中的很长时间里,他还同时是一个铁匠、一个手工艺人，一个工程师、一个设计师、一个发明家、一名教师。人们只能习惯性地称他为艺术家,因为其他的称呼是不能很恰当地描述这位在法国的不同行业都做出过杰出贡献的人物的。
We should not merely take him as an architect for a long time of his whole life he had been an ironsmith, an engineer, a designer, an inventor, a teacher simultaneously. People could only name him as an artist, because there is no other title could describe this great man who had made outstanding contributions to various fields in France.
