爱因斯坦说：“对我而言，毫无疑问，我们的思维不用符号绝大多数也都能进行，而且在很大程度上是无意识地进行的。”设计师的设计思维形式是多种多样的，既有在意识层面上的理性的反映形式，也有在无意识层面上的非理性的反映形式。这种无意识因素在艺术设计思维中起到了不可替代的作用。英国文艺评论家卡莱尔也曾经说过：“匠艺的作品是有意识的、机械的，而天赋的作品是无意识的、有生气的”，“无意识是创造的标志”。

Illogicality, aimlessness, casualness, unawareness and obscurity are characteristic of the unconsciousness of modern design thinking.
