Second Language Development in an English-speaking Country

摘要 This study aims to report a learner's language exposure and language use, early experience in mainstream classroom, difficulties at different stages of learning, and attitudes towards bilingualism in an English speaking country. It is concluded that when a student studies a second language, he/she should develop both interpersonal communicative skills and cognitive/academic language proficiency.
