Huang Hua, a veteran revolutionary and diplomat, was one of the witnesses to the successful junction of the Chinese Red Army forces in October, 1936. To commemorate the 70th anniversary of this historic event we have, with his permission, translated and excerpted the relevant chapter from Huang Hua’s memoirs, to be pub- lished by the World Knowledge Publishing House.
