A Research in Critical Problems of MAC Protocol in Ad hoc Wireless Networks

Ad hoc网络综合了分组交换网和无线通信网两者的优点，是一种极有前途的无玑通信组网技术。在Ad hoc网络中，设计一个合适的MAC协议不仅可以确保在发生分组冲突时在移动台之间成功地交换信息，而且还可以提高系统吞吐量、减小分组传输时延。本文讨论了影响Ad hoc网络MAC协议性能的一些关键因素及其解决方案，并给出了对MAC技术进行建模分析时常用的一些基本假设和方法。

Combining advantages of both packet switching network and wireless communication network together, the Ad hoc network is a promising wireless communication network technique. In Ad hoc network, a proper design of MAC protocol not only guarantees successful information exchanges among radio units in the presence of conflicts, but also increases the system throughput and reduces the packet delay. In this paper, some critical problems affect the performance of Ad hoc networks MAC protocol and their potential solutions are discussed, and some basic assumptions and methodologies in modeling of MAC protocols are provided.
