LIN Geng is a low-profile poet and theorist in China＇s modern poetic world. Uninterested in leading the poetic fashion, he nevertheless becomes the center of much controversy, particularly because of his reception of the Western poetic aesthetics as well as his obstinate love for the Chinese tradition. The author holds that, although he is apparently a traditionalist, LIN distinguishes himself by renovating poetic writing in the avant-garde perspective.
