民主是张学良政治思想的重要内容,其现代民主意识更与西安事变共始终,成为影响西安事变发生、发展和结局的重要因素。尽管西安事变的结果基本满足了张学良改组国民政府、政治自由、保障民主权力以及停止剿共、联合抗日政治诉求,但其现代民主意识中封建传统观念这一局限性,又令人不无遗憾。

Democracy is an important content of Zhang Xueliangs political idea. His modern democracy consciousness had existed from the beginning to the end of Xi＇an Incident, which became an important factor impacting the emergence, development and ending of Xi＇an Incident. Xi＇an Incident eventually：resulted in basically fulfilling Zhang Xueliang＇s political appeals of re——shuffling Kuoming government, having political freedom, guaranteeing democratic rights, stopping suppressing the Communist Party, and uniting in fighting against Japanese; however, the pitfall of his traditional feudal idea in his modern democratic consciousness was a pity.
