摘要
碳酸、盐岩古气候学是在非热带碳酸盐岩(沉积物)研究基础上发展起来的一门新兴学科。本文介绍了碳酸盐岩古气候分析的理论依据,研究进展和现状,结合我国实例探讨了碳酸盐岩古气候研究对传统古地理。
Over the last decade,much advancement on non warm water carbonates has been made in components of carbonate minerals and grains,geochemical and diagenetic features,depositional environment and facies model,and diagnostic creteria.However,until recently it is common that most of such researches have been concetrated on Mesozoic Cenozoic non tropical carbonates.Application of above new acceptence into carbonate strata from the uppermost Precambrian to Permian of South China indicates that similarities shared by those carbonates formed in Ice Ages are obvious,including low depositional rate with little lateral variation,regular environmental changes from salinizing to freshening coupled with oxiding to reducing condition respectively ,and evidances of water temperature dropping.Information derived from climatic analysis of above carbonate strata indicates some dysaerobic deposits,lower Silurian and lower Permian for exemple,are climate related rather than results of common assumpted upwelling in origin.Evidances of water temperature dropping in tropical area at the glacial maximum seems to be potential to challange present prevailing climatic model.Further research on carbonates,especially on pre Mesozoic ones of low latitudes may open up new avenues for the development of non tropical carbonate study the core of carbonate climatology.
