版画的艺术表现对技法具有很大的依赖性。版画技法的独特性、技法产生的各种艺术效果的欣赏价值,是其它画种所不具备的。从传统版画到现代版画,技法和技法在版画艺术中的意义不断发展演变。形式可以脱离主题独立存在,但是技法不能脱离艺术表现。

Engraving is the combination of painting and printing as well as the combination of artistic expression and painting techniques. The artistic expression of engraving is largely dependent on painting techniques. The uniqueness of painting techniques in engraving and the aesthetic value of different artistic effects produced by such techniques are not possessed by other types of painting. From traditional engraving to modem engraving, painting techniques and their significance in engraving evolve without cease. From the perspective of formal beauty, the engravings made by painting techniques are the art of aesthetic values. Form is independent of subject, but techniques cannot be divorced from artistic expression.
