In order to explain how the chivalrous consciousness comes in being, this article tries to analyze the chivalrous deeds and the consciousness of the various schools of thoughts in the pre - Qin Times. We know from the history of Chinese thoughts that the term of ＂a chivalrous man＂ comes from the lower part of the society and such a phenomenon is resulted from the blending of different cultures. By analyzing the process of the forming of the chivalry consciousness, the article reveals the source of the consciousness and the effects it has on later literary works.
