摘要
霍桑的《红字》、《拉帕西尼的女儿》和《教长的黑面纱》这三部代表作品,执着于宗教意义上“恶”的观念,一方面他把“恶”当作造成一切社会问题的根本,另一方面认为解决“恶”的途径是行善和自忏。
In his three masterpieces -The Scarlet Letter, Rappaccini's Daughter, and The Minister's Black Vei, Nathaniel Hawthorne was persistent in the concept of "sin" with its religious meaning. On one hand, he regarded "sin" as the root of all the social problems; on the other hand, he maintained that the solution to "sin" depends on kindness and self repentance.
