英汉人体头部器官转喻现象研究

An English-Chinese Study on Metonymic Meanings of Organs in the Head

认知语言学从认知角度出发,认为转喻不仅仅只是一种修辞格,而是一种思维方式,是人类认知的基本手段之一。在对人体头部器官的认识、使用过程中,英汉都有转喻,形成了各种转喻现象,这些转喻现象反映出了英汉两个民族在认知方式上的异同。

In cognitive linguistics, metonymy is perceived not as a figure of speech but as a mode of thinking and one of basic cognitive instruments. And in the process of knowing and using the organs in the head, both Chinese and English adopt metonymy, which necessarily produces various metonymic meanings. These metonymic meanings of human organs in the head will reveal the similarities and differences of English and Chinese people＇s mode of thinking.
