摘要
Starting from the traditional analysis of English intonation, the article discusses the Halliday's, Jackendoff's, and Brazil's views upon intonation. Then it explores the multiple meanings and its metonymic patterns of English high key in terms of the prototype theory.
本文从语调的传统研究出发,依次探讨了Halliday,Jackendoff,Brazil等语言学家对语调的不同观点。进而以认知语言学类典型理论框架内。探讨了英语语调的多语义特征及其转喻模式。
