Expermental studies of convective combustion in high-packedly energetic granular beds are carried out with ionization probes and piezoelectric transducers in a high pressure combustor,whose strength limit is above 1000 MPa.The flame front and its velocity and pressure wave are successfully obtained.It is found that the pressure wave propagates in front of the flame front.The burning mechanisms of convective burning processes are revealed.The effects of ignition strength,loading density and propellant size on burning processes are also investigated.The experimental results play an important role in investigating the mechanisms of abnormal pressure in rocket propulsion system and gun propulsion system.
