Many Chinese geoscientists of older generation have experience of studying overseas with rich background in sinology. This knowledge structure of linking Chinese and foreign cultures enables them to transmit geoscience knowledge and professional skills as well as the advanced western culture, methodology and value. The latter plays even more important role in influencing people＇s thoughts.
