Color decoration is major constituent of Chinese traditional architecture. This paper introduces the original physical basis of architectural color. Color composition of Chinese ancient building with wood structure is discussed. The influences of traditional culture on architectural color are also discussed. In the end author points out research on the architectural color has significant arc, cultural and social meanings.
