The evolution of residential space in Shanghai and its city spirit

通过对居住生活方式的演变和空间的语言特征相互关系的研究，揭示了充溢上海建筑、城市中的人文精神，并就城市空间折射文化内涵这个主题作出进一步的探讨，以期找出上海城市建筑设计中合乎人文精神的内在因素，对探索现代建筑设计之路有所帮助。

Through researching the relationships between the evolution of residential life style and laoguage chavacters of space, this paper reveals the humanistic spirit in the buildings and the city of Shanghai, and discusses the motif that urban space reflects cultural connotation, in order to find out the inner factors conformed with humanistic spirit in architectural disign in Shanghai, which has a certain signficanee for probing the way of modem architectural design.
