语言运用恰当得体是跨文化交际能力的具体体现。得体性取决于语言使用者对目的语社会文化的了解、宽容和适应程度。直接作用于跨文化交际得体性的主要因素涉及目的语的价值体系、风俗习惯、思维方式、交际语体等。语言使用者只有提高上述因素的综合素质,才能恰当得体地运用语言。

Appropriateness in language use is the practical reflection of intercultural communication, which depends upon the awareness, tolerance and adaptation of the target socio-culture. The main factors affecting appropriateness concern target value systems, customs, habits, modes of thinking, communicative style, etc. Language users have to improve their target socio-cultural competence in order to communicate with native people appropriately.
