The city of Bomday has the largest suburban network in India with 275 route kilometers and 90 stations.The Indian Railways decided to modernize its fleet in Bomday by introducing of new EMUs with a state-of-art three-phase propulsion equipment. In the last years, they awarded two orders comprising the complete electrical equipment for new dual voltage electrical multiple units.
