楚蚁鼻钱面文■字新释——先秦货币地理研究之八

楚国货币中有一种面铸■字的铜币。对于此种面文楚币的释读,学术界存在着不同的看法。根据这类楚币的文字特征、出土分布的地域规律以及相关文献的记载,本文认为(?)字币的面文当释读为鄂,其应为先秦时期楚国境内的地名,在今湖北省东南部沿长江地区,楚人曾一度以此为都,后作为地名铸于楚币之上。
