《圣经》是解读西方文学的必要前提,不了解《圣经》可以说就无法深入地了解西方文学。在《老人与海》这部中篇小说中,作者海明威塑造了人类文学史上的一个平民英雄。对这个人物从圣经的角度进行解读,笔者认为这一人物的描写被赋予了很多圣经中受难耶稣的形象。从《圣经》的角度再次地来解读这本世界名著,可以让读者更清晰地理解基督教社会价值观念的一个层面。

The Holy Bible is one of the best ways for the Chinese readers to learn western literature. The Old Man and the Sea is the masterpiece of Ernest Hemingway, the winner of Nobel Prize of literature, in the novel the author created an ordinary fisherman Santiago who is a real hero.
