湖南观赏匿类资源，经调查共有驯科兀属183种。主要分布在湘西、湘西北以及湘南、湘西南地区，垂直分布主要位于海拔600～1000m的常绿阔叶林带和海拔1000～1600m的常绿落叶阔叶林带。上壤、水分、光照等因子是引种栽培观赏蘑类的关键。
