Comparison of Chinese and Western sport culture through history

运用文献资料的研究方法,从历史学和文化学的视角对中西体育文化进行了分析比较。研究表明:在不同的历史进程中,娱乐和战争是中西方体育走过的不同发展之路,并形成了内敛与张扬的中西体育文化不同的文化特质,愉悦和胜负则是中西方体育不同的外在追求。在此基础上,文章进一步对民族传统体育如何面对奥林匹克运动的冲击和世界体育文化的未来发展进行了论述。

The comparison of the Chinese and Western sport culture from the historical and cultural perspectives demonstrated that during the different historical processes, recreation and sports can reflect the development of the Chinese and Western sports, which are featured by conservativeness and openness separately. The Western sports emphasize being recreational while the Chinese sports focus on success and failure. In this paper, how the Chinese traditional sports can meet the challenges brought by the Olympic Games and how the world sports culture will develop are expounded.
