摘要
在唐代,由于统治者实行开放的治国方略,从而在意识形态领域形成了儒、释、道三教鼎立并存的局面。但佛学的思辨性和修行的简便化以及佛教的发展,构成了对儒学发展的挑战。中唐时期的士人知识分子认识到了佛学对儒学发展的危害,展开了对佛学的猛烈批判,韩愈就是这方面的代表。韩愈本着儒家知识分子的使命感,以儒家思想的卫道者自居,拿起了恢复儒家道统这一批判的武器,对佛学思想进行了批判,即使为此坐贬,也矢志不渝。他在贬谪期间仍积极传播儒学、力行实践,为捍卫儒学的统治地位以及儒家思想的南传作出了巨大贡献。
In Tang Dynasty, because of the opening policy, three religions existed at the same time. But the development of Buddha challenged that of Confucianism. The intellectuals in the middle Tang Dynasty realized the harm of Confucius development and then attacked violently it, Hanyu being representative of them. Guardian of Confucianism, he took on the critical weapon to fight against Buddha even he was demoted for it. He makes great contribution to the circulation of Confucianism.
