岑参对被署为虢州长史十分失望,品第虽升,他却认为是“黜官”、“谪宦”。这与时代风尚、家族身世和诗人个性特征密切相关。因此,他“常忽忽不乐”,感到“青云未有期”,陷入了沦落失路之悲中。他艳羡故友和同僚的升迁荣达,对廷阙充满了犬马之恋,希望及早身登青云;同时,为解脱仕途的失意和矛盾,世外之想成为他的心理需求和想象;而虢州幽雅清美的山水景色,给予诗人一份栖息心灵的感性的愉悦和理性的感悟与超越;但诗人以豪迈俊逸的人生意气追求功名富贵的理想,并未因此消减,反而因安史乱起,而具有更为现实和理性的内容。

Cen Shen was disappointed after being appointed as the deputy governor of Guozhou. Because of the social tendency, the poet＇s lot and characters, the poet thought that his status was down although the government post was up.The poet was in low spirits and fell into the pain of lose. He envied the promotion of his former friends and colleagues,and was sentimentally attached to the royal govemment, hoping to get an important position in the royal court. The poet comforted himself by imagining living out of the real life, and the beautifiul views of Guozhou also set his mind at rest, but the dream of seeking fame and success became stronger.
