A Comparison Between English and Chinese Loan Words

英语和汉语是世界上拥有使用者最多的两种语言,但两者的借词现象由于所在国的历史发展过程不同而呈现了很大的差异。在英国开放的文化观念影响下英语非常开放,借词容纳百川;而汉文化的保守使汉语系统相对封闭,借词量少且基本属名词类。

Chinese and English are the two languages with the most speakers in the world. They both have many loans, but there shows great differences due to the different developing courses in history. This paper makes a contrast between Chinese and English borrowed words.
