The difference expansion of the steam turbine reflects the gap change between the dynamic and static parts of the turbine, which is one of the important parameters to protect its safe operation. Understanding the ideal of the difference expansion, measuring principles and change trend can judge the status of turbine dynamic and static parts according to the monitored change of difference expansion parameters, combined change of absolute expansion, axial displacement and other parameters of the turbine anchorage system during start-up and operation of the turbine. The corresponding regulating measures should be taken for abnormal parameters to avoid friction between dynamic and static parts.
