以“八荣八耻”为主要内容的社会主义荣辱观是对中华民族传统美德的提炼和升华,为我国大学生思想道德建设指明了方向,具有鲜明的时代感和强烈的现实针对性。高校是开展社会主义荣辱观教育的重要领域,理所当然要在弘扬和践行社会主义荣辱观方面走在全社会的前面。高校要逐步形成和完善社会主义荣辱观教育的学习规划、践行措施、激励方法和整体协调统一的运行机制。

With a fresh zeitgeist and a strong practical purpose, it provides a clear direction in which we shall build college students＇ ideology and morality. It goes without saying that colleges, as, a significant field for the promotion of the socialist ideal of honors and disgraces, should carry out and develop the racialist ideal in the front line. They shall gradually establish and perfect the operational system for learning schedules, exercising methods, motivation measurement and overall coordination to promote the socialist ideal of honors and disgraces.
