通过对《西河郡林氏族谱序》首次出现的湖南常德《林氏族谱》主纂林炳荣学识能力的分析,福建龙岩林氏发展情况与《林序》内容的对比,明清时期商品经济发展对林氏宗亲联谱的影响,《林序》出现时的社会历史背景的分析等四个方面论证《林序》的真实性。

The article proves the authenticity of The Preface of Lin＇s Genealogical Tree in Xihe County through the analysis of Lin Bingrong＇s learning ability, who was the main compiler of Lin＇s Genealogical Tree in Changde of Hunan, initially from the Preface, the comparison between the Lin＇s development in Longyan of Fujian province and the content of the Preface,the influence of commodity economic development in the period of Ming and Qing Dynasty on Lin＇s genealogical tree and the analysis of the social and historical background for the Preface.
