On Cultural Continuity and Evolution of the Theme of Revenge in the Chinese and the West Literature

复仇文学记载了人类历史长河中悲壮凄美的个体奋斗和社会实践历程。由于传统习俗、社会制度和法律伦理等诸般差异,中国和西方在文学的复仇主题中呈现出不尽相同的文化特质。本文从历时性和共时性的角度,对不同时期的中西方复仇文学主题作品进行比较分析,试图发掘并阐释蕴涵其中的不同民族的文化精神和价值指向,从而发现一条中西复仇文化传承与嬗变的轨迹。

The literature on revenge has recorded the moving and tragic scene of personal struggle and social experience in the history. Since there are differences upon traditional custom, social regulations and legal ethics, the Chinese literature was not fully identical with the west literature on the theme of revenge. From the historical and concurrent view, the article tries to point out the different cultural spirits and value orientations of different nations through a comparative analysis on the Chinese and the west literature on revenge writing in different times. Thereby, we could find the track of the cultural continuity and the evolution of the culture of revenge in the Chinese and the west world. the
