载漪等深受儒家经典熏陶,认为学习外国的长处,就是离经叛道,将导致亡国灭种。戊戌变法,均属秕政,光绪帝已失天下人心,应予废立。主张杀洋人,杀教民,与外国开战。把正义的反侵略的爱国主义变成了荒谬的盲目排外。思想落后于时代,终被时代淘汰。

Zaiyi was deeply influenced by the thoughts of Confucian School. He believed that to learn advantages from foreigners was to discard the classics and rebel against orthodoxy which would lead to ruining the state and destroy the Chinese race. The Reform Movement of 1898 was a bad administration. The Emperor Guangxu should be deposed because he had gone against the will of the people. Zaiyi advised to kill the foreigners and fight against the foreign countries. In addition, he turned the justice anti - invasion war into absurdly indiscriminate rejection of everything foreign. His thoughts left behind the times so that he was eliminated.
