南阳汉画像石的龙形象解析

Probe into the Dragon Images of Han-stone Carvings in Nanyang

“龙”的形象产生由来已久,追溯上古时期已可见其雏形。在汉代,“龙”的形象已作为汉画像砖石墓中不可或缺的题材。南阳地区的汉画像石“龙”形象题材丰富,造型灵动。作者从其产生的社会背景、外部形态的分类等方面做了综合的考证,使用图像学和符号学的方法,总结出该地区“龙”形象独特的艺术特征。

Dragon images that have been widely used in Chinese tradional art could be traced back to pre-historical period. In Han-dynasty, the dragon images were considered as an indispensiable content in stone carvings. Especially in Nanyang region where there are plenty of Han-stone carvings on which unearthed dragon images are found. The dragon images are known for its vivid modelling and various themes. This paper uses iconographical methods to sum up the unique characteristics of dragon images in Nanyang stone carvings on the basis of their cultural origin and social background.
