iFIX is a powerful HMI/SCADA software for industrial environment. The application of iFIX in revamping No. 2 reheating furnace for the 2050mm hot strip mill in Baosteel is introduced. The three-level DCS structure of the revamped reheating furnace is analyzed and the main functions of iFIX that can be implemented in the system are described in detail. The process communication between iFIX and the control system and the L2 optimization system is focused, and the detailed implementation method and recommendations are also given out. This revamping has gained significant effect, and is meaningful to be popularized.
