从M+N的基本形式入手,探讨了其七种语义结构,提出了名词词组不仅是词的扩展,也是小句的压缩;并从范畴化、典型化、静态导入和动态导入、语法隐喻等方面对这一形式结构的多种语义做了认知方面的解释。

Starting with the ＂M＋N＂ basic structure of nominal groups, the essay studies its seven semantic functions and its contributing factors, advances that a noun group is not only an expansion of a word, but a contraction of a clause, on which a further delving is made to its semantic structure from different cognitive perspectives, such as categorization, summary scanning, sequential scanning, and metaphors, so as to help us have a better understanding of a structure with different meanings and different structures with the same meaning.
