五代作家的人格心态随着社会的剧烈变化而发生了质变,这种质变在当时文人生活条件最为优越、创作成果最为丰富的南唐,表现得尤其明显。正是这种文人心态的转变在很大程度上导致了南唐党争的产生与延续。南唐文人的心态大体分为三种,其中,追名逐利的处世心态与意气用事、相互诋毁的仕宦心态是南唐党争产生和发展的重要因素,而沉迷声色、逃避现实的人生取向则体现出了南唐党争对于文人心态转变的影响。
