Current Status and Development Trends of Steels——A European Perspective

德国钢铁协会VDEh目前列出近年开发的2 200多个钢种,钢种问题涉及新钢种能否满足未来需求及开发时应重视什么。本文根据欧盟考察报告,阐述了在人口发展停滞或下滑的基础设施较发达国家的考察情况,指出未来钢铁行业需要了解主体客户群需求,以金属相及合金成分精确设定来开发新钢种,使用建模技术促进新钢种推广及工艺开发。

Currently more than 2 200 steels are listed by the German Iron and Steel Institute VDEh, many of them have been developed in recent years. Regarding the variety of different materials the question may rise whether new steels are required for future demands and what should be the focus of new steel development. This paper discussed the question from the European perspective, that is the perspective of countries with a well developed infrastructure and with stagnant or even decreasing population. The future oriented steel industry needs to understand its main customers, requirements. New steels will be developed using the options of different metallographic phase and a sophisticated understanding of alloying. Modeling techniques will accelerate and support the introduction of new steels and processes.
