There are a lot of animal idioms in both English and Chinese. Their modes of thinking and cultural backgrounds are different. In this article, the writer tries to explain the cultural differences of animal idioms in Chinese and English from register, cultural customs, cultural background and the aspects of metaphor and association through the comparison of the images of animals.
