第一次进入越南时，邓伟文对这个国家几乎一无所知。那年他21岁，身高1．78米，有一张有点冷峻的长方形脸，在中国南方算得上高大英俊。当时他是广西南宁市一家小型贸易公司的低级职员，每月挣100元人民币，一年前刚从一所名不见经传的专科学校毕业，学的经济管理，却因烧得一手好菜，外加擅长拉丁舞而在同学中小有名气。
Mr. Deng Weiwen was utterly ignorant of the country when he first set foot on Vietnam. Aged 21 then with a height of 178cm and a somewhat cold square face, he could be considered a tall and handsome young man in South China. He was working as a low-level staffer with a small trading company in Nanning, Guangxi at that time, earning only 100 Yuan monthly. He had just graduated from an unknown technical academy one year before, majoring in Economic Management. However, he was well known among his classmates for his expertise in cooking and for his Latin dance.
