Through study, comparison and analysis of the bidding documents for part of the railway civil engineering projects and of the railway construction contracts in recent years, the article summarizes the common factors forming and controlling the payment mode by bill of quantities for railway projects at present and analyzes the elements influencing the price of the railway engineering construction. It also has thoughts on building a healthy and orderly construction market environment and bringing into fully play the role of payment mode by bill of quantities for the railway.
